Real Love

I often find people mistaking true love for something like it. They swear by it, get married because of it, and then wonder why they end up surprised by it , and in most cases destroyed by it. What is often the case is that you may love certain attributes about a person, such as their smile, or how they put it down in the bedroom, but rarely do people take the time to dig deep and find the real jewels of the person they claim to love, and begin to learn from that part of them.

Often the same mis-judgement that we use when we decide not to date that woman because she is fat, even though she embodies all that you need in a woman and wife... or you don't date that man because in his individuality it is hard for people to understand him, therefore he may be unemployable at times.... Rarely do they understand the reality in that the woman can lose weight, and that man can later start a business of his own because he is a leader not a follower.....

Those are the same reasons we have to learn to know the difference between love and something like it.

Real Love compels the one who surrenders to it, and lets it guide their decisions. It is not about caring what other people think of you because of their choices, but rather being mature about your own. It is not about the physicality of things, or the control over others. It is about being realistic and being willing to succumb to the "Right Choice" rather than the "convenient" one.

But like anything of true value, "True Love" doesn't just appear out of thin air and make you giddy and child-like. True love is about maturity, and the careful guidance of your actions and thoughts. Because you know that what you say or do, can affect your loved one in ways that your "something like love" cannot fix. It is about knowing.  It isn't just about what you feel in your heart and crotch.  It is what you allow your mind to understand, soul to process, and heart to bring into action.   Missing any of those steps changes it from True Love... to something like it.

Inspiring philosophy

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in from of him.

When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

When done he asked the class if they thought the jar was full.

They agreed it was.

The professor then picked up a box of small pebbles and poured them into the jar.

He shook the jar lightly so that the pebbles rolled around and filled the gaps between the gold balls.

Again he asked the students if they thought the jar was full.

They once again agreed and said it was.

Next the professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.

Of course the sand filled up the remaining space between pebbles and golf balls.

He asked the class once more if they thought the jar was full to which they unanimously replied "yes"

The Professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the desk and added them to the jar filling any remaining space.

"Now" said the professor, " I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life."

"The golf balls are the important things – Your Family, children, health, religion, friends and passions."

"Things that if everything else were lost and only they remained your life would still be full."

"The Pebbles on the other hand are matters like your house, job and car. "

"The Sand is everything else. All the small stuff."

"If you put the sand in first you will have no room for the Golf balls or pebbles. The same goes with life.''

"If you spend all your time on the small stuff, you won't have room for the important things in life."

"Pay attention to the things that are critical to you happiness."

"Play with your children"

"Take your partner out to dinner"

"Have a medical check up"

"There will always be time to clean the house and fix the car."

"Set your priorities and take care of the golf balls first. The rest is just sand."

One of the Students at this point raised her hand and inquired what the Coffee represented.

The Professor smiled. "I'm Glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there is always room to have a cup of coffee with a friend."

The Five Minute Management Course

Lesson 1:

A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is
finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings. The
wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs
downstairs. When she opens the door, there stands Bob,
the next-door neighbor.

Before she says a word, Bob says, 'I'll give you $500
to drop that towel.'

After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel
and stands naked in front of Bob. After a few
seconds, Bob hands her $500 and leaves without a word.

The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back
upstairs. When she gets to the bathroom, her husband
asks, 'Who was that?'

'It was Bob the next door neighbor,' she replies.

'Great,' the husband says, 'did he say anything about
the $500 he owes me?'

Moral of the story:

If you share critical information pertaining to credit
and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in
a position to prevent avoidable exposure.

Lesson 2:

A priest offered a Nun a lift. She got in and crossed
her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest
nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he
stealthily slid his hand up her leg.

The nun said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?' The priest
removed his hand. But, changing gears, he let his
hand slide up her leg again.

The nun once again said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?'

The priest apologized 'Sorry, sister, but the flesh is
weak.'

Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and
went on her way.

On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to
look up Psalm 129.

It said, 'Go forth and seek, further up you will find
glory.'

Moral of the story:

If you are not well informed in your job, you might
miss a great opportunity.

Lesson 3:

A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager
are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil
lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out.

The Genie says, 'I'll give each of you just one wish.'

'Me first! Me first!' says the admin clerk. 'I want to
be in the Bahamas , driving a speedboat, without a
care in the world.' Puff! She's gone.

'Me next! Me next!' says the sales rep. 'I want to be
in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with my personal
masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the
love of my life.' Puff! He's gone.

'OK, you're up,' the Genie says to the manager.

The manager says, 'I want those two back in the office
after lunch.'

Moral of the story:

Always let your boss have the first say.

Lesson 4:

An eagle was sitting on a tree, resting, doing
nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him,
'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?'

The eagle answered: 'Sure, why not.'

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and
rested.

All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit
and ate it.

Moral of the story:

To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting
very, very high up.

Lesson 5:

A turkey was chatting with a bull. 'I would love to be
able to get to the top of that tree,' sighed the
turkey, 'but I haven't got the energy.'

'Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?'
replied the bull. 'They're packed with nutrients.'

The turkey pecked at a lump of shit, and found it
actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest
branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some
more shit, he reached the second branch. Finally
after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched
at the top of the tree.

He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out
of the tree.

Moral of the story:

Bull Shit might get you to the top, but it won't keep
you there.

Lesson 6:

A little bird was flying south for the Winter. It was
so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a
large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by
and dropped some shit on him.

As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow shit,
he began to realize how warm he was. The shit was
actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and
happy, and soon began to sing for joy.

A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to
investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered
the bird under the pile of cow shit, and promptly dug
him out and ate him.

Morals of the story:

(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your
friend.
(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep
your mouth shut!

PALOMA - IN THE NAME OF LOVE

    The pretty Paloma

telenovela is a limited-run television serial drama popular in Latin America. The word combines tele, short for television, and novela, a word that Latin literary studies associate with medium-span romances. The term can also be considered a portmanteau of television and novel. Telenovelas are a distinct genre, different from soap operas; for telenovelas have an ending and come to an end after a long run (generally less than one year). The telenovela combines drama with the 19th century feuilleton and the Latin American radionovela. The medium has been used repeatedly to transmit sociocultural messages by incorporating them into storylines.
Patricio Wills, head of development at Telemundo, jokingly described the basic format of telenovelas thus:
The plot is always the same. In the first three minutes of the first episode the viewer already knows the novela will end with that same couple kissing each other. A telenovela is all about a couple who wants to kiss and a scriptwriter who stands in their way for 150 episodes.

    The Evil Carlota!
En Nombre Del Amor (In the Name of Love) was a Mexican telenovela
    First billing cast:
    • Victoria Ruffo is Macarena Espinoza de los Monteros† (Sister of Javier and Carlota. Real mother of Paloma in secret. In love with Cristóbal. Killed by Carlota )
    • Arturo Peniche is Juan Cristóbal Gamboa / Father Juan (Real father of Paloma in secret, new priest of Real del Monte. In love with Macarena.)
    • Allisson Lozz is Paloma Espinoza de los Monteros de Sáenz (Believed to be the daughter of Sagrario and Javier, but really the Daughter of Cristobal and Macarena in secret. In love with Inaki at first (until his death), then with Emiliano then dated Gabriel, in the end marries Emiliano.)
    • Sebastian Zurita is Emiliano Sáenz (Son of Orlando and Diana. Dating Romina but in love with Paloma. Believed to be father of Romina’s baby so he marries Romina. But in the end, he divorces Romina and marries Paloma.)
    Villains:
    • Leticia Calderón is Carlota Espinoza de los Monteros (Sister of Javier and Macarena, legal tutor of Paloma. Cruel and manipulative. In love with Cristóbal. Kills Iñaki, Arcadia, Alonso, Gabriel, and Macarena. Ends up in jail and in a wheelchair, entirely alone. For all the things she has done.)
    • Altair Jarabo is Romina Mondragón Ríos (Villain, later good. Daughter of Camila. Friend of Paloma, enemy of Liliana. In love with Emiliano, lover of Germán. impregnated by Germán, but makes all think the real father is Emiliano and marries him. But in the end, she divorces Emiliano and agrees to start a family with German.)
    • Jorge Alberto Bolanos is Samuel Mondragón(Father of Romina. Ex-husband of Camila. Steals and commits fraud with money from other women tries to abuse Camila so Romina can give him money then gets arrested. Then he ends up in jail for fifteen years for his robbery crimes.)
    NOW THATS DRAMA!!!

OWEN EYES WIN OVER OLD COLLEAGUES

Michael Owen may have won the FA Cup with Liverpool but there's nothing he'd like more on Sunday than to knock his old club out of the famous competition.

Fit again after a three-month absence, the United striker hopes he's selected for a match that he feels will be far from easy, despite the opposition's poor recent form.
“We're delighted we're at home but we know it's going to be tough,” Owen told United Review, the official matchday programme.

“It's probably fair to say we'd both have been hoping for an easier path to the next round, but that's the beauty of the FA Cup. Big teams always go out and this year it won't be any different. We just hope it's not us."
Should Owen be given the nod against Liverpool he’ll make only his second FA Cup appearance for United. But it’s a competition the forward has a long history with, having won it with Sunday’s visitors back in 2001.
“In many ways, some of the shine's been taken away from the FA Cup for the fans, I think. The Premier League and the Champions League are so big now that the FA Cup is forced to take a backseat. As a player, though, it's very much a trophy you still want to win."

CRERAND: CUP RIVALS ARE DOWN - AND OUT?

United legend Paddy Crerand believes the Reds have an opportunity to further increase the gloom surrounding Liverpool on Sunday.

To say the two teams go into the FA Cup third round tie in differing form is a huge understatement, with Sir Alex Ferguson's men in prime position to pursue an unprecedented 19th league title while the Merseysiders are just four points above the relegation zone. No wonder Crerand is relishing the clash.

"You can’t help but be excited by Liverpool’s FA Cup visit on Sunday,” Paddy told us. "I still think the FA Cup is third on our list of priorities this season - behind the title and Champions League - but we’ve not won it for a while, and besides, how can we not be up for it against one of our greatest rivals?
“It’s a big game for us, but even bigger for Liverpool because if we knock them out their season would be over in terms of domestic trophies. It’s an amazing tie, let’s hope it lives up to its billing.”
Every United fan is dreaming of that 19th title which would see the club break Liverpool's record of league championships - and Paddy's no different.

“I want us to win the title and lift the European Cup at Wembley - so I’m not asking for a lot! To win the league again - and it’s definitely within our capability - would be fantastic for our supporters and for this club because we’d overtake Liverpool."

    Match Pack Liverpool

MY TEAM TO BEAT LIVERPOOL - WHAT'S YOURS?
Season-ticket holder James Shaw names the eleven he'd like to see starting Sunday's big game for United...
A year on from last season’s humiliating FA Cup third round exit to bitter rivals Leeds, Sir Alex Ferguson has vowed not to make the same mistake again – with regard to team selection - when he takes on a struggling Liverpool side.
For this reason I firmly believe that the manager will pick the strongest team available to him, and with the opposition seemingly there for the taking I think he'll favour 4-4-2.
I expect Edwin van der Sar to play in goal as long as he recovers from the flu that has kept him out of the Reds' last two fixtures. Rio Ferdinand should return to play alongside captain Nemanja Vidic at the heart of the defence and I see no reason why Rafael and Patrice Evra shouldn't continue in the full-back berths.
I’d pair Darren Fletcher and the in-form Anderson together in the centre of midfield with Tuesday’s match winner Nani on the right and Ryan Giggs on the left.
Even though Wayne Rooney will be desperate to play for obvious reasons, I'd be tempted to leave him on the bench considering he’s only just got back into training following the injury he picked up in the West Brom game. Chicharito is full of confidence after two important goals in his last two appearances and Dimitar Berbatov will have fond memories of the hat-trick he bagged against Liverpool back in September. I have every confidence that a partnership of Berba and Chicha would be more than enough to do the damage.

US offers Ivory Coast's Laurent Gbagbo 'dignified exit'

Laurent Gbagbo (L) with Presidents Boni Yayi of Benin (R) and Ernest Koroma of Sierra Leone (C) on 28 December 2010 West African leaders want to convince Laurent Gbagbo (left) to cede power
Incumbent Ivory Coast President Laurent Gbagbo could be offered refuge in the US as a means to end the country's political crisis, US officials say.
Washington could help Mr Gbagbo make a "dignified exit", but this opportunity was "rapidly closing", they said.
The comments came as a delegation of African leaders met Mr Gbagbo in a fresh attempt to persuade him to step down following disputed elections.
West African states have said they will remove him by force if he does not.
The UN and the African Union regard Mr Gbagbo's rival, Alassane Ouattara, as the winner of the 28 November election.
Leaders Boni Yayi from Benin, Pedro Pires from Cape Verde and Ernest Bai Koroma from Sierra Leone - who represent the Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) - were due to make an amnesty offer to Mr Gbagbo if he quit. They were joined for this trip by Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga, representing the African Union.
They were received by a smiling Mr Gbagbo, AFP news agency said.
Afterwards, Mr Odinga described the meeting as "useful", and Mr Yayi said they would return. They then went on to see Mr Ouattara.
After their meeting, Mr Ouattara said that the dialogue was over.
"Everything has been done so that we could find a solution through diplomacy and dialogue," he said.
"Since that is not the case, perhaps Laurent Gbagbo will have a change of heart. If not, then Ecowas will need to use all the means at its disposal including the use of legitimate force so that the president that was elected can assume his functions."
It is the diplomats' second visit in less than a week. Last Tuesday they flew to Abidjan, Ivory Coast's commercial capital, but failed to convince Mr Gbagbo to stand down.
Guarantees Sierra Leone's Information Minister, Ibrahim Ben-Kargbo, said the leaders would tell Mr Gbagbo to step down and did not intend to negotiate with him.
But a source within the African delegation told the BBC that the incumbent would be offered a legal amnesty, as well as a guarantee that his financial assets would be secure if he left office.

    Analysis

Few observers have any hope that a compromise can be found that would see Laurent Gbagbo hand over power to his rival, Alassane Ouattara.
The Ecowas mission will almost certainly go over the various deals that have been offered for exile and amnesty but, in his New Year message, Mr Gbagbo said he would not cede power and insisted that he was the rightfully elected president.
He still has control of state television and the public backing of the army, but Mr Ouattara has the support of most West African leaders, who have already told the West African central bank to give him control over the state accounts.
The leaders will report back to the current chairman of the Ecowas region, Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, on Tuesday, at which point a decision will be made on the way forward.
Later, unnamed US officials said Mr Gbagbo might be allowed to travel to the US, and that he had relatives in the state of Georgia.
"We want to see him leave. If he wishes to come here, we of course would entertain that as a means of resolving the current situation," a senior State Department official told AFP news agency.
"But any opportunity to do that is an opportunity that is rapidly closing because of what is happening on the ground, and every indication we have at this point is that he's digging in."
A spokesman for Mr Gbagbo, Ohoupa Sessegnon, told the BBC any offer of an amnesty would be rejected.
"It's not about Laurent Gbagbo seeking some sort of offer. It's about Laurent Gbagbo having won the elections in the Cote D'Ivoire," Mr Sessegnon told the BBC. "Now it appears that the opposition supported by the French and their allies do not want to accept that."
The UN says some 200 people have been killed or have disappeared in the past month - mostly supporters of Mr Ouattara.
UN peacekeepers in the country say security forces have twice blocked them from visiting the site of one of two alleged mass graves.
The UN has also expressed concern that some of the homes of opponents to Mr Gbagbo have been marked to identify the ethnicity of their occupants.
The Gbagbo camp has denied sanctioning abuses.
UN peacekeepers are protecting Mr Ouattara, who is holed up at a hotel in Abidjan. Mr Gbagbo has called on the 10,000-strong UN force to leave the country.
The election was intended to reunify Ivory Coast - the world's leading cocoa producer - which has been divided since a 2002 conflict.
Mr Ouattara was initially proclaimed the winner by the country's election commission - a verdict backed by the UN, which helped organise the poll.
But the Constitutional Council, headed by an ally of Mr Gbagbo, said he had won, citing irregularities in the north which is controlled by former rebels supporting Mr Ouattara.
Both men have been sworn in as president.
